The Association of Building, Mechanical and Electrical Inspectors (ABMEI), represents approximately 57 FTEs in the Planning, Building and Code Enforcement Department, Public Works Department and Housing Department. ABMEI's contract expires on December 10, 2009. Negotiations began on November 2, 2009, and the City and ABMEI are currently in negotiations to continue efforts to reach an agreement on a new contract.
