Silicon Valley Energy Watch, Pacific Gas and Electric Company and the City of San Jose logos

The City of San José, Pacific Gas & Electric Company, and Ecology Action have joined forces through Silicon Valley Energy Watch (SVEW) to help Santa Clara County take advantage of cost-saving, energy-efficient technologies.  The program offers free energy audits, targeted retrofits, technical assistance, education, training, and more.  Target audiences include municipal governments, non profits, small businesses, community organizations, professionals, and residents.  We will connect eligible customers to the broad range of audits, rebates, and technical support available to help you save energy and save money. Specific program offerings are listed on this web page.

Silicon Valley Energy Map

The Silicon Valley Energy Map is a dynamic, searchable map that visually pinpoints energy use, solar installations, and certified green buildings in Santa Clara County. Learn more about the map and how you can use it to track your community’s progress towards clean energy goals.


Free energy meters are now available for residents to check out from the West Valley, Alum Rock, and Evergreen libaries in San José.Silicon Valley Energy Watch and the San José Public Libraries Team Up to Help Santa Clara County Residents Save Energy
Residents can check out free energy meters from all libraries in San José to evaluate their energy use. Saving energy can save money and help reduce pollution and greenhouse emissions. Visit the Kill A Watt web page for more information.


Solar Domestic Hot Water Systems Workshop – Code and Inspection
Solar America City San José, Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC), and the Silicon Valley Energy Watch invite local building and code officials, building managers, and clean energy industry professionals to a timely workshop on Solar Hot Water systems.

This workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of both indoor and outdoor inspections of domestic solar hot water heating systems. Discussions will focus on the areas that are important to inspectors and industry professionals to establish a level of confidence that systems inspected have been installed safely. Register now!
