Changes to Local Industrial Discharge Limits and Sewer Use Ordinance Changes

The San Jose/Santa Clara Water Pollution Control Plant is recommending changes to the Industrial Local Limits and Sewer Use Ordinance that may affect San José businesses or organizations.

The proposed changes to the Local Industrial Discharge Limits are the result of a technical evaluation conducted in 2005-2006. U.S EPA and the San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board accepted the technical report in June 2007.

The following table summarizes the proposed changes to the local limits:

* The City proposes that facilities discharging less than 1000 gallons per day would continue to be required to meet the current maximum allowable concentration limit of 2.7 mg/l for copper and 2.6 mg/l for nickel.
