Welcome to Almaden Lake Park, where many visitors come to relax and enjoy the recreational opportunities, fish along the shores of the 32 acres of lake and hike and bike in our beautiful 65 acre facility.

Others enjoy a nice family or company picnic and play volleyball, toss horseshoes. Bocce ball courts are also available on a first come first serve basis, you will need to provide your own equipment.  Court etiquette is expected.

Almaden Lake Park is divided into two sides referred to as the Eastside, which runs parallel to Winfield Boulevard and the Westside of the park along Almaden Expressway.  Dogs are not allowed on the Westside of the park as it is considered a wildlife sanctuary and the beach area must remain clean.

Dogs are welcome on the eastside of the park and must remain on a leash and under control at all times.  Owners are responsible for removing any excrement and disposing in a waste receptacle.

Picnic Areas

A concession stand is open on a seasonal basis, and offers beverages, light foods, refreshments and rentals of pedal boats and life jackets.  There are large green open lawns and picnic areas with barbecue pits.  Tot lots are located at both sides of the park and feature water play areas.

Activities at the Park
Connected to the south end of Almaden Lake Park is the Los Alamitos Creek Trail, which continues to Santa Teresa County Park.  This 3.9- mile trail features a fitness course and takes you by scenic agricultural lands and riparian communities.  Connected to the north end of the park is the Guadalupe River Park trail which travels below street level for a smooth .9 mile stretch to the percolation pond located under Highway 85.

Boating & Water Activities

Due to the risk of invasive mussel infestation, personal boating and other watercrafts are not allowed at Almaden Lake Park. Additionally, the water feature is currently turned off due to the drought, until further notice. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Visitors to Almaden Lake Park can enjoy seasonal activities that include fishing and pedal boating.

in order to fish, proper fishing license is required.
