CLASS PURPOSE

Under general supervision performs skilled journey-level carpentry work of moderate difficulty. Perform related work as required.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

This is the journey-level class in the carpenter series. This class differs from that of Senior Carpenter in that the latter is responsible for lead supervision over a crew of journey-level carpenters and other employees.

Training and Experience

Any combination of training and experience equivalent to successful completion of a recognized carpentry apprenticeship program.

Licenses/Certificates

Possession of a valid driver's license authorizing operation of a motor vehicle in the State of California.
