SENIOR WATER METER READER (3629)

CLASS PURPOSE
   Under general supervision, performs work of moderate difficulty in providing supervision to others performing accurate and timely water meter reading and water consumption recording; performs more difficult aspects of the work. Performs related work.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
   This class is the second in a two-level Water Meter Reader series. This class plans, assigns, directs and evaluates work of incumbents in the lower class of Water Meter Reader; performs more difficult tasks in guaranteeing that meters are read accurately and on a timely basis. This class is supervised by an Accounting Technician assigned in the Municipal Water System Customer Accounts Services Section.

Training and Experience
   Any combination of training and experience equivalent to completion of high school and three (3) years of experience equivalent to a Water Meter Reader.

Licenses/Certificates
   Possession of a valid driver's license authorizing operation of a motor vehicle in California.
