QUALIFICATIONS

qualifications are typically required. An equivalent combination of education,
experience, knowledge, skills and abilities sufficient to satisfactorily perform
the duties of the job may be substituted.)
Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s Degree from an
accredited college or university in Communications, Marketing, or a closely
related field and four (4) years of increasingly responsible marketing or public
relations experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Licensing Requirements
Valid California Driver’s
License may be required.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of advanced
marketing, advertising and public relations principles.
Knowledge of media relations
principles.
Knowledge of current
multi-media, printing and graphic design methods and technology.
Knowledge of budgeting
principles.
Knowledge of project
management and organization.
Ability to supervise and
motivate employees.
Ability to plan and organize multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to write
professionally for media relation documents.
Knowledge of standard booking and event coordination methods.
Ability to speak effectively
before a wide range of public and private organizations and officials, and
media representatives.
Ability to interact and
coordinate volunteers.
Positions at the San Jose
International Airport may also require knowledge of the air transportation and
aviation industry, and knowledge of Federal, State, and local rules and
regulations governing airport operations.
Knowledge of the policies, organization, functions and objectives of the City.
Ability to effectively implement a marketing and public information program.
Experience with developing and coordinating a volunteer program.
Knowledge of Web-based media.

Develops
and implements an effective public information and advertising program
to educate the general public and business community on facilities,
services and activities available. |

daily operations of marketing staff by assigning work and assisting in

design, production and list of marketing collateral. |

Ensures
resources for projects are available and oversees marketing budget. |
