Silicon Valley Energy Watch logoA key mission of Silicon Valley Energy Watch is to assist local government leaders and special districts to help them become sustainability leaders within their communities. We provide no-cost customized energy audits, retrofit services, rebates, education, and technical assistance.

Energy Audits and Reports
In partnership with Ecology Action, Silicon Valley Energy Watch offers no-cost, no-obligation energy surveys to determine where your facilities have opportunities for energy and cost savings. The results are detailed in an energy audit report that SVEW will provide you, which will contain recommended energy efficiency upgrades, anticipated energy cost savings, retrofit costs, and the amount of instant rebates. You will be able to see exactly how much the retrofit will cost and how long it will take to recoup your investment through reduced energy bills.

Turnkey Direct Installation Program
The Silicon Valley Energy Watch offers a turn-key, direct-installation program for many energy efficient lighting and refrigeration systems including:
  • Refrigeration fans and controls
  • Cold drink vending machine sensors
  • Interior and Exterior lighting fixtures, including LEDs
Public, nonprofit, farm and commercial businesses must meet utility eligibility requirements for participation. Please contact SVEW to determine your eligibility.

Customized Retrofit Incentives
Also known as Non Residential Retrofits, you can save energy and money with these customized PG&E incentives for business energy efficiency retrofit projects. These incentives go towards the installation of high-efficiency equipment or equipment systems. Post-installation, businesses are rewarded with cash payments based on the actual annual kWh or therm savings that are achieved.

Retrocommissioning (RCx) is a systematic engineering process for identifying less-than-optimal performance in a facility’s existing equipment and control systems, and making necessary repairs or reprogramming to save energy. Whereas retrofits involve replacing outdated equipment, RCx focuses on improving the efficiency of what is already in place.  Businesses are able to save money on their energy bills without the costs associated with installing new equipment.

An excellent way to track your building’s energy use for compliance and energy management over time, is through benchmarking. Beginning in July 2016, if your building occupies over 5,000 square feet, you must disclose your facility’s energy usage if you sell, lease, finance or refinance the property. Energy Star Portfolio Manager is a free online benchmarking tool provided by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Through this application you can track the energy and water use of your facility, compare it to other similar buildings, and apply for Energy Star certification.

Rebates and Incentives
Silicon Valley Energy Watch provides negotiated pricing on equipment and contracted labor, so SVEW's rebates and incentives will likely be more attractive than those offered by other programs. Depending on the equipment you choose, some lighting, refrigeration and vending projects may be rebated up to 100%. We provide experienced contractors to perform the installation, detailed quality assurance inspections, and project management assistance throughout the process.

New Construction Incentives (Savings by Design)
Savings by Design is a program offered by PG&E to encourage high-performance new building design and construction.  The program offers building owners and their design teams a wide range of services, such as Design Assistance, Design Team Incentives, Owner Incentives, and an educational resource, energy design resources.
