Managing Recycled Water in Your Cooling Tower
Easy to Manage
SBWR’s recycled water is a reliable, cost-effective and eco-friendly alternative to using potable water in your evaporative cooling system. While most potable water comes from blended sources, recycled water is derived from a single source, providing much more consistent quality, which makes it easier to control the water chemistry in cooling towers. As for the quality itself, our recycled water is highly treated to stringent California Title 22 standards, meaning it’s suitable for most uses other than drinking.

Recycled water contains higher total dissolved solids (TDS) than potable water. However, with the proper water treatment program for scaling and corrosion, recycled water can successfully be used in cooling towers.

Additional Information

In this section, we’ll provide you with Best Management Practices (BMPs) you can apply to minimize common concerns found in all cooling systems. Look for practical advice and useful information – and for technical details on SBWR’s recycled water, explore these links.
