How will the city handle security? Traffic?

San Jose Police Department has developed a comprehensive traffic management and security plan for CFP, activating all personnel in two shifts per 24 hours, to ensure the maximum coverage to ensure the comfort, convenience and safety of visitors and local residents and businesses.

What is the Special Event Zone?

The Event Zone outlines an area of Downtown San Jose within which specific activities will be regulated. The Ordinance will do the following:

  • Exclude peddlers and vendors from operating within the Zone
  • Suspend issuance of permits for outdoor special events on private property within the Zone during the event
  • Prohibit distribution of free merchandise, free sample goods or coupons for a commercial purpose on the public right-of-way in the Zone
  • Prohibit drones from flying over the Zone.
