San Jose-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility Tours

The San José-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility (RWF) has been treating Silicon Valley’s wastewater and protecting public health and the Bay environment since 1956. In celebration of 60 years of service, the City of San José’s Environmental Services Department invites the public to attend a free bus tour of the wastewater facility. 


Join us and learn about: 
  • The vital role the RWF plays in protecting public health, safeguarding the San Francisco Bay and wildlife, and supporting the local economy, and
  • The Capital Improvement Program, a multi-year effort to rebuild and modernize the aging facility and one of the largest public works efforts in South Bay history.

When
Two bus tours will occur on the following Saturday’s in 2016 at 11 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.:
  • April 30
  • June 25
  • August 27
  • September 24 in Spanish & Vietnamese - CANCELED due to low enrollment
  • October 29 - Available, register

Who 
Tours are open to adults and children over the age of 12 who reside within the Facility's service area. Please note odors are a natural process of the wastewater treatment process, and may be present at the San José-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility. 

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. 50 person maximum per tour.
