Overnight Warming Locations (OWL)
Overnight Warming Locations

The City of San José will open three Overnight Warming Locations (OWL) during periods of inclement weather between December 2018 and April 2019. 

 

OWL sites:

  • Bascom Community Center, 1000 South Bascom Avenue, San José, CA 95128
  • Leninger Community Center, 1300 Senter Road, San José, CA 95112
  • Roosevelt Community Center, 901 E Santa Clara Street, San José, CA 95116.

OWL will use the following thresholds to trigger activation of one or more of the sites:

  • an overnight low of 40 degrees or lower with a probability of rain less than 50%; or
  • an overnight low of 45 degrees or lower with a probability of rain of 50% or greater; or
  • persistent rainfall forecasted for two or more days.
