2019 NHL All-Star Weekend

Tuesday, January 22

Stanley Cup Presentation at City Hall
11 am – 4 pm
City Hall Rotunda
Presentation of the Stanley Cup to the City of San Jose, followed by photo opps for attendees
Dev Davis’ office is coordinating the press conference at 11 am
After the press conference until 12 noon, the Cup will be available to City departments, PD, FD, etc.
12-4 pm the viewing will be open to the public.
The event will be publicly noticed as 12 – 4 pm

Thursday, January 24

NHL Legacy Project
3:30 pm
Roosevelt Park
Sharks Foundation donation of $500,000 for the refurbishment of Roosevelt Park’s outdoor roller hockey rink. This is an NHL Legacy project to commemorate San Jose’s hosting of the 2019 NHL All-Star Game.
Refurb work includes new flooring for street and roller hockey use, fencing, bleachers and equipment, along with funding to support hockey programming at the rink. This is the Foundation’s second largest donation.
Possible VIP attendees – NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman or rep, Sharks All-Stars Joe Pavelski, Erik Karlsson and Brent Burns and Sharkie.
Schools sending kids to participate – Piedmont Middle School and Noble Elementary School.

NHL Media Day
5-10 pm
City National Civic
All NHL All-Star players in attendance for interviews with local and national media.
Event will be carried live on NHL Network, Rogers (Canada) and Sirius XM.
Event is NOT open to public, other than to long-time Sharks season ticket holders.

Thursday, January 24 – Sunday, January 27

NHL Fan Fair

Times vary – see website
San Jose McEnery Convention Center
Ticketed event.
Hockey-themed fan fest from Thursday evening through Sunday afternoon. Activities include Q&A with fans, autograph sessions, etc.

Friday, January 25

NHL Skills Competitions
6 pm
SAP Arena
Ticketed event.
NHL All-Stat players vie in on-ice skills challenges.
Carried live by NBC Sports Network and Rogers.
Before the event, a red-carpet entrance will feature the arrival of the NHL All-Star Players at SAP Arena

Saturday, January 26

Ongoing throughout All-Star activation:

  • NHL Downtown Ice - The iconic outdoor ice rink situated at the Circle of Palms in downtown San Jose will stay open through Sun., Jan. 27 as part of the Honda NHL All-Star Weekend celebration. Youth hockey fans who visit NHL Downtown Ice wearing the jersey of their favorite NHL team will skate for free over the NHL All-Star Weekend. See website for more information and for a rink schedule.
  • Pucks in the Plaza - Oversized, three-dimensional NHL All-Star Player pucks will line the path to SAP Center at San Jose. Fans can follow the path of the All-Stars starting at the McEnery Convention Center, through the Plaza de Cesar Chavez, along the NHL Downtown Ice Rink, to the palm trees of Arena Green, and finally to the front doors of SAP Center. The 34 pucks throughout downtown San Jose will provide photo opportunities for fans of all ages as they search for their favorite 2019 All-Star players and will contribute to the festive atmosphere surrounding the 2019 Honda NHL All-Star Week in San Jose.
