    • Contact your family, medical providers, friends, or neighbors for assistance during this time.
    • If you experience a medical emergency, please call 911.
  • Power was restored to all City traffic signals as of 5:45 p.m.
  • In anticipation of returning power, many utility companies recommend that customers unplug sensitive electronic equipment and turn off electrical heating systems and electric water heaters to prevent overloading the distribution system upon restart. If you leave a light on in your house, you’ll be able to tell when the power returns.
  • When the power is restored, turn your appliances on one at a time.
  • Power has been restored four of the seven of the City’s critical facilities impacted by the PG&E power shutoff. All facilities were running on backup power generation during the power shutoff.
  • The City will observe the scheduled holiday on Monday, October 14.
  • For updates, follow @CityofSanJose, the Santa Clara County Office of Emergency Services @SCC_OES, and PG&E @PGE4Me on Twitter and Facebook.
  • Now is a great time to make an emergency plan with your family and prepare an emergency kit for future emergencies.
