City of San José Website
Check out the City of San José online. We are pleased to bring up-to-date information about City programs and services right to your doorstep. Download City Council agendas, check out upcoming community events or special programs at your local library. In our continuing effort to better serve the community, we are developing new ways for our customers to do business online, and eliminate that trip to City Hall. Also, review the Program Directory for contact information.

If you come across broken links, have suggestions, or experience a website-related issue, email the webmaster.

3-1-1 - Police Department's General Information and Non-Emergency Telephone Number
The non-emergency telephone number for the San José Police Department is 3-1-1 or (408) 277-8900. (311 services are not currently available from calls originating on some cellular telephones.)

This is the number to call to report non-emergency police situations, such as noise disturbances, parking complaints, lost and found property and crimes NOT in progress. The San José Police Department encourages residents to use their own judgment when determining the nature of their situation. When in doubt, however, the Police Department recommends that residents call 9-1-1.

9-1-1 - The Number to Call for All Emergencies
In the event of a police, fire, or medical emergency, call 9-1-1. For cellphone users, call (408) 277-8911. Trained personnel are available to help you, 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
