The Office of the Independent Police Auditor
publishes various publications year round that reach a diverse group of people in the city of San Jose and nationwide.
Publications range from brochures, annual reports to booklets. The Office's Year End Report includes a statistical
analysis of the number of complaints made, the complaints sustained and the actions taken. It also reports on trends
and patterns and makes recommendations. This year the office also published the first youth guide titled,
"A Student's Guide to Police Practices." The goal of the guide is to provide information about interacting with police
officers and to help them make smart decisions. It contains fundamental information every youth and parent needs to
know about police practices.
