The Gold Rush and Quicksilver Mining :
A coffer of gold ingots symbolically supported by figures rendered in the cinnabar color of the minerals mined in the Almaden Quick Silver Mines. Among other uses, this red mercuric oxide was reduced to mercury used in rendering gold.
