The major features of each Specific Plan are directly incorporated into the San José 2020 General Plan as either a Planned Residential Community or Planned Community. For example, the Communications Hill Specific Plan is described in the General Plan as the Communications Hill Planned Residential Community. As the Specific Plans have been modified by Council action, these changes are reflected in the respective Planned Community designation.

Several of the Specific Plans have been amended numerous times, altering their original text. Planning staff is working to incorporate these amendments into the published content of the Specific Plans within the near term.
