Adapted Bowling
This bowling class is designed for individuals with
disabilities ages 11 years and older. Sportsmanship,
teamwork, and individual skills are taught for
all levels of bowlers. Food may be provided at
special events.

Oakridge Lanes)
Wheels on Fire
Wheels on Fire is a sports team designed for athletes
of all ages with physical disabilities. A variety
of sports are offered. Emphasis is on basic sport
skills, team cooperation, and rules of competitive
play. Non-wheelchair users of all ages and levels
are welcome. Food may be provided at special events.
Location: Camden Community Center
Powersoccer
Join the “San José Steamrollers” in
the electrifying and growing sport of powersoccer.
Practices focus on basic skills, strategy, ball control,
and teamwork. Opportunities to participate in tournaments
are available. Open to persons using power wheelchairs.

Kinderfun
A play program for children with developmental disabilities
ages 4-10. The class includes music, games, arts
and crafts, movement activities, and field trips.

Berryessa Community Center
Creative Movement and Dance
A fun and active class, that develops coordination,
attention span and gross motor movement skills for
children with disabilities. The class is open to
both boys and girls. No special dance clothes are
needed.

Sports
Skills
This program is designed for children with special
needs and will focus on skill building. This is
a non-competitive programs. We will work on ball
handling, throwing, catching, passing, etc. Wear
comfortable clothes and tennis shoes.

S.N.A.P -
Special Needs After-School recreation Program or
SNAP for short is a NEW program which provides
a fun, safe after-school opportunity for children
with cognitive disabilities (including Autism Spectrum
Disorders). Activities will include sports, games,
arts and crafts, and music and movement. Staffing
ratio is 2:1. Location: West San

Camp
These week long day
camps are designed for children with disabilities
who need a higher level of staff
assistance for participation. Staff ration is
approximately 1 to 2. Activities include arts and
crafts, games,
circle time and at least one field trip. Camps
are held during the winter holiday season and
during the summer.

Diabetes Camp
This week long day camp co-sponsored by the Diabetes
Society of Santa Clara Valley is offered each summer.
Children with diabetes ages 5-13 will participate
in camp games, arts and crafts, and field trips.
Nurses and Nutritionists provide daily teaching
sessions on topics related to disease management
and diet. Contact Tom Smith at the Diabetes Society

Northern California
Junior Sports Camp
This annual camp for youth with physical disabilities
is held each summer at San Jose State University.
The camp offers introductory and intermediate instruction
in both recreational and competitive wheelchair sports
opportunities for individuals ages 5 to 21. Sports
are taught by world-class wheelchair athletes. Sports
include archery, athletics, aquatics, basketball,
boccia, bowling, football, rugby, scuba, sled hockey,
water skiing and more. Campers can attend for one
or two weeks and have a residential or day camp option.
