new – Basic Calligraphy
This is a basic introduction to an ageless and beautiful script style of writing.
It’s an exciting, inspiring experience for any creative art-loving soul.Calligraphy offers many uses: copy a poem for a gift, make place cards,
address wedding envelopes, and enhance your photo albums and more.
No experience is necessary with one-on-one instruction. Session is 8 weeks. There is a minimal
cost for a basic set of pens and three nibs. Practice sheets
and alphabet samples will be provided by instructor.
China Painting
Learn the techniques of painting on porcelain. Create jewelry boxes, plates, and tomorrow’s treasures. The instructor will notify students of what
and where to purchase supplies before the first class meeting. Session is 8 weeks. Cost of supplies is approximately $50 for beginners.
new – Flower Arrangement
This is a class for beginners. Lessons will cover bud vase arrangement,
round, triangular, and oval shapes. Learn how to make simple and elegant
arrangements for that special occasion. Session is 8 weeks. There is a materials fee (due the first meeting). Please also bring a pair of cutting scissors
to the first class.
new – Fun with Drawing
It’s time to do what you have been thinking about for ages… to Draw! This
is an opportunity for the eager beginner or the artist in progress wanting a
bit of creative direction. The instructor emphasizes one-on one guidance
for each student. You will be helped to focus more on form, line, size, texture
and other elements.With a pencil you can re-invent, translate or illustrate
your world in a simple, easy and exciting way. You may choose subject
matter from a selection provided by the instructor…from boats to butterflies
and fish to flowers. Session is 8 weeks. A material list will be provided.
new – Stamping-Greeting Cards
Learn how to make greeting cards for birthdays, anniversaries or weddings. You will learn basic stamping techniques and complete 4 cards to take home in this class. Session is 4 weeks. Materials included in the course fee.
new – The World of Watercolor
Enjoy the wonderful world of painting by exploring the flowing medium of
watercolor. See and translate the world around you in an easy and satisfying
process. Each student may choose from a great selection of resource
material provided by the instructor. You may complete 2-5 small paintings
in this course. All levels of experience are encouraged, as the instructor
works one-on-one with each student. Session is 8 weeks. A basic material list will be given out
at registration.
