Daniel Mendoza
Assistant Volunteer Coordinator/Recreation Leader Intern
Danny first started at Grace Community Center as a volunteer in 2006. The passion from working with children and adults with various types of disabilities is what brought him to our organization. Danny is currently in school at San Jose State University and receiving his degree in Recreational Tourism and Commercial with a minor in communications. He will further his studies in 2009 – 2010 by getting his double major in Recreational Therapy.
Danny is undergoing his internship for the City of San Jose by working in various types of programs and organizations. He has worked for a Junior Wheelchair Sports Camp and is currently assisting the director at Valley Medical Center with the Annual Disability Awareness Day on October 8, 2008. Danny mentions his inspiration in working with people with disabilities in which he states, “Once you see through the disability, then you can find the real person inside and that is what counts the most” (Danny 2008).
