Dr. Lisa Blevins is the Director of the Grace Community Center and also oversees the dedicated team of the City-Wide

Therapeutic Services unit.

She has been working for the City of San Jose at Grace Community Center since 1994.

She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UC San Diego and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at San Diego.

She grew up in the Bay Area, in the small town of Saratoga.  While she worked in private practice with children and families, and specialized in adolescent girl and women’s issues in San Diego, she found her passion working with persons with serious mental illness after moving back to Northern California. She has felt very fortunate to have found her “home” in downtown San Jose working to improve the lives of people who are challenged by the adversity and stigma of mental illness.

Through her work at Grace Community Center, Dr. Blevins’ goals are to make some difference in how society views and treats people with mental illness and to find a way to improve the dire conditions in which so many of them live.
