  Compaction Testing
 

Compaction testing is performed on soils, aggregates and asphalt concret accodring to ASTM and Clatrans test procedures. All field inspectors are safety-trained and certified in the proper handling of nuclear densituy guages.

Soil Compaction

 

Types of Materials Tested:
   • Soils (Subgrade, Trench Backfill, Embankment)
   • Aggregates (Base, Subbase, Trench Backfill)
   • Asphalt Concrete



Nuclear Compaction

 

In the Field:
   • Determine In-Place Density by Nuclear Method
   • Obtain Representative Samples


Cal Method Compaction

In the Lab:
 
• Determine Maximum Theoretical Density
  • Determine Optimum Moisture Content
  • Compute Relative Compaction Results
