The TRANSPORTATION AND HYDRAULICS SERVICES DIVISION provides engineering and technical services in support of the Department mission. The sections and the services it provides are as follows:
 
Electrical Engineering/Storm (City Hall - 6th Floor)  
  The Electrical/Storm Section of Public Works provides professional engineering and construction support for the City's; traffic signal, streetlight and communications systems; the master planning and design of the network of storm sewer pipelines, manholes, storm drains and pump stations; master planning and construction of Rule 20A and 20B utility undergrounding program as well as conversion of City electrical facilities.

Roads and Bridges (City Hall - 6th Floor)  
  The Roads and Bridges Section provides a variety of design and construction management services for projects that include: roadways, streetscapes, trails, bridges, airfields, parking lots, recycled water, storm drains and sanitary sewers. Projects are designed and managed by a professional staff that includes PE’s, LEED AP’s and QSD/QSP’s.

  The Water Pollution Control Plant Section provides a variety of design and construction management services for capital projects at the Water Pollution Control Plant.

Sanitary Engineering (City Hall - 5th Floor)
  The Sanitary Engineering Section provides services related to the Sanitary Sewer Capital Improvement Program which includes the condition-assessment, planning, design and construction management of the City’s 2,200 miles of sewers.

Sanitary Master Planning (City Hall - 5th Floor)  
  The Sewer Master Plan Group prepares and updates the Sanitary Sewer Master Plan Capacity Assessment. The Group evaluates the capacity of City’s Sanitary Sewer System using established methodologies and the hydraulic model that incorporates sewer, flow monitoring/rainfall, manhole survey, population, water use, and land use planning data. The Master Plan Group identifies existing and future sewer system capacity deficiencies, and develops and prioritizes capacity improvement projects needed to provide adequate system capacity for existing and future land uses.
