|

Terminal B Baggage Screening Equipment

Funded by the Transportation Security Administration, the new baggage explosive detection systems for the Airport’s new Terminal B includes conveyors that move passengers’ checked bags to an array of automated security screening machines, with additional conveyors to move screened bags for staging for aircraft loading. In addition, the project includes upgrades to the Airport’s electrical power and mechanical systems to support the new equipment.

Funded by the Department of Labor's Workforce Investment Act, these Recovery Act funds will be used by work2future to provide job placement, counseling and training services for 1,500 to 2,000 adult and dislocated worker clients through 6/30/11. work2future would work with employers, as well as community colleges, San Jose State University and other training providers to develop customized and on-the-job training programs for new and incumbent workers in such areas as clean technology, health care, bioscience, and nanotechnology.
