New facilities will include 5.7 miles of pipeline in the Gilroy area, a 3-million gallon storage tank and a new pump station. The pipeline will distribute water from the existing recycled water plant to additional customers and allow expanded use of recycled water.

This funding from the United States Department of Agriculture-Natural Resources Conservation Service will be used to further the completion of the Lower Silver Creek Flood Protection Project, stretching from Coyote Creek to Lake Cunningham. The project helps provide for further flood protection of homes, businesses, highways and other infrastructure. This project will ultimately remove 3,800 parcels from the one-percent floodplain and improve stream habitat values.
