Welcome to Bicyclist and Pedestrian Program

imap

Home to 1,007,000 residents, San José is the 10th largest city in the United States.

San José’s mild climate and flat terrain provide an ideal environment for bicyclists
and pedestrians. The City of San José Bicyclist & Pedestrian Program builds
facilities and operates programs to support bicycling and walking.

Currently, facilities include more than 1,000 miles of sidewalks, 16,000 curb ramps, 200 miles of Bike Lanes, 50 miles of multi-use trails, and nine pedestrian-bicyclist freeway overcrossings.

Programs include Bike/Ped Collision Analysis, free Bicycling Skills Classes, and monthly Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) meetings.

The Bicyclist & Pedestrian Program also coordinates with other City programs,
such as the School Safety Program and the Trails Program, to enhance bicyclist
and pedestrian safety around schools and in neighborhoods.
