SERVICES | TREES & LANDSCAPING - STREET LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE Landscape Maintenance crews of the Department of Transportation maintain 226 acres in 540 parcels of landscaped street medians and roadsides throughout the City. Our Mission " is to provide and maintain safe and aesthetically pleasing streetscapes citywide." Who maintains our City Street landscape? Services provided by City staff include:
Special Districts Landscape - Some median island landscapes in the City are part of a maintenance assessment district. Homeowners and businesses in these districts are assessed a special tax for a higher level of landscaping. If you have a question pertaining to landscape within a maintenance district please contact Ms. Dorothy Abeyta at 277-5907. Undeveloped medians - Medians with bare dirt are considered "undeveloped" and are waiting for future funding to develop their landscapes. The Public Works Department is responsible for the design and construction of new landscapes. When finished, the medians are then turned over to the Department of Transportation for maintenance. Adopt a Street is a program that provides business, organizations, neighborhood associations and individuals the opportunity to become a partner with the City in beautifying and maintaining a street landscape parcel. Assistance is welcomed from volunteers who desire to improve and maintain the landscaping in their community. For more information please call (408) 975-3728. STREET LANDSCAPE STAFF Greg Schultz,
