CFD 8: Communications Hill

Description

Communications Hill can be described as a dense, urbanized residential neighborhood making it a unique community in the City. It is comprised of two separate developments: Dairy Hill on the north side of Communications Hill and Tuscany Hills on the south side of Communications Hill. Below is a list of potential maintenance responsibilities, please note they are not guaranteed at this time:
• Landscaping in Median islands
• Backup landscaping
• Park strip landscaping
• Street trees
• Pavers/decorative pavement
• Special entrances/gateways
• Separated sidewalks and associated landscaping
• Maintenance access roads
• Bike paths
• Stairways
• Stairway lighting and landscaping
• Retaining walls
• Graffiti removal and normal painting on sound walls within right of way
• Trails/paved pathways
• Open spaces
• Slopes
• Drainage ditches/swales
• Terraces
• Biological mitigation/conservation areas
• Plazas
• Storm water detention ponds
• Decorative street lighting


Tree Services

The trees to be maintained include the following: cork oaks (Quercus suber) located on north end of Communications Hill Blvd (Curtner entrance) and Yarwood sycamore (Platanus acerifolia ‘Yarwood’) on the south end of Communications Hill Boulevard (Hillsdale entrance), the Olive trees (Olea europaea) located at the community entrance, the newly planted Afghan pines (Pinus eldarica) and the existing California pepper (Schinus molle) located on the Curtner Ave. slope. Trees in the interior private streets are maintained by the Home Owners Association. On the Tuscany Hills side, all of the street trees are maintained by the City. Detailed maintenance responsibilities are to be determined. Please check back periodically for updated information.
