Project Hope Kick-Off & Resource Fair

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Project Hope – a program in the Mayor’s Gang Prevention Task Force – along with the Council District 2, hosted the s Project Hope Program Kick-Off & Resource Fair on Saturday, Sept. 8. Held at Edenvale Elementary, over 365 community members from the Roundtable neighborhood enjoyed food, music, and children’s activities. Community members had the opportunity to speak with representatives from various City, County, and community-based organizations, in addition to receiving free dental screenings from the Foothill Community Health Center’s mobile unit. Captain Johnson Fong and Sergeant Stephen Donohue, from the San Jose Police Department, helped support this event by having police officers from the K-9 unit available to interact with the community. Project Hope is a community-driven, City-led effort, focusing on improving the quality of life in the Roundtable Drive area. The goal is to empower communities so they are safer, cleaner, and engaged. For more information, please contact Neil Rufino, PRNS Deputy Director at 408-535-3576.
