[ARCHIVED] UPDATE #2: PG&E Power Shutoff in San José

Today at 2:20 pm, the City of San José released an updated flash report on the status of the Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) power shutoff which is now expected to begin in San José at 8:00 pm. Forecasts of high winds and low humidity today through noon tomorrow, October 10, has forced a power shutoff in parts of San José. The City of San José has proclaimed a local state of emergency, and has dispatched Fire and Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services staff to medical care facilities and medical baseline customers who PG&E has not been able to reach about the power shutoff. PG&E has indicated a full power restoration could take up to five days. To find out if your address will be impacted, please check PG&E's event map.

The City has created a helpful resource flyer along with an emergency preparation guide to help residents prepare for this power shutoff.
