General Information
Delmas Dog Park, located on the corner of Park Avenue and Delmas Avenue, is a free-standing park. The park measures just over 17,000 square feet and includes many dog-friendly amenities:
- A completely fenced and double-gated entrance
- Decomposed granite walking path with bark-mulch dog area
- Drinking fountains with dog bowls
- Mutt mitts
- Plenty of security lighting
- Tables and benches
Delmas was a joint venture between the City of San José and the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA); it offers a safe space for the neighborhood and its four-legged residents.
PARK UPDATES
The first phase of the Discovery Dog Park construction project has been completed. These improvements include:
- New decomposed granite pathway installed to complete a walking loop
- Freshened up the existing decomposed granite pathway with new material
- Reseed and top dress the area
- Removed the existing garbage receptacles and replaced with Dumor decorative cans
Dog Park Rules:
- Dogs must be accompanied at all times
- No more than two dogs per person are allowed at one time
- Children are only permitted in the dog park when accompanied by a guardian
- Owners are responsible for picking up after their dog
- All dogs must wear proof of license and have proper vaccinations
- Dogs in heat are not permitted in the park
- Dogs exhibiting bad or aggressive behavior will be required to leave the park
