Updates on City of San José Services and/or Operations
- Silicon Valley Strong Continues Fundraising: Mayor Sam Liccardo provided updates on Silicon Valley Strong fundraising efforts today via a press release. The initiative brings together public and private funds to help Silicon Valley’s most vulnerable as they deal with the financial burdens of COVID-19. Thus far, fundraising efforts have raised more than $20 million, including $277,200 from a recent telethon. The effort’s leaders are asking for more contributions as resident needs remain great. - Public Health Public Service Announcements (PSAs): Dolores Alvarado, Director of Community Health Partnership, shares important information and resources in Spanish for community members seeking access to medical treatment without insurance. Watch the video on Twitter.
- Zoonique Virtual Backgrounds: Keeping up with friends and family via videoconference? Happy Hollow Park & Zoo has released free wallpaper photos to use as virtual backgrounds for online video chats. The backgrounds include Danny the Dragon, the Crooked House, Keep Around Carousel, among several popular animals at the zoo. The backgrounds can be downloaded here. Who says videoconferencing can't be fun?
