The following is information about the City of San José’s response to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and reduce the number of people infected.

Updates on City of San José Services and/or Operations
- Reminder – Some Park Amenities Will Open This Weekend: With the weekend approaching, let’s not forget the new County and State orders in effect. It allows some park amenities to reopen with new protocols in place. San Jose closed more than 1,000 amenities that will reopen in a phased approach. Starting this weekend of May 9, the following amenities will begin to open: pickleball, bocce ball, and tennis courts; disc golf; skateparks; and horseshoes. Those who choose to visit the newly opened recreational amenities will need to follow all County criteria which includes no sharing of recreational equipment and only using these facilities with members of your household. Other amenities remain closed. Violators may be subject to fines of $100 or more. For a current list of park and facility closures, visit bit.ly/prnscancellations.
- Celebrating Mother’s Day at Home: There are many ways to celebrate Mother’s Day from home this Sunday, May 10. From sending a virtual card or cooking up a new recipe for mom – if you live with her! You can check out recipes online at the San José Public Library. How will you be celebrating?
- Neighborhood Photo Scavenger Hunt: On Saturday, May 9, take a break and enjoy this fun neighborhood scavenger hunt. Snap a picture and share it on Facebook or Twitter. Don’t forget to tag @SanJoseParksandRecreation And use the hashtag #StayHomeSV. Visit the City's Virtual Recreation Center for daily suggestions on staying active at home during the shelter in place. Updates from the County of Santa Clara
- Community Resources for Youth, Families, and Individuals: The Santa Clara County Office of Public Affairs has created new website dedicated to community resources for youth, families and individuals impacted by COVID-19. Resources include food assistance, health services, financial help, legal assistance, and other support. Many services are available to all members of our community, regardless of ability to pay or immigration status.
