FLASH REPORT #96 - COVID-19 Mitigation and Response
The following is information about the City of San José’s response to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and reduce the number of people infected.

San José City Council Meeting: During tomorrow’s City Council Meeting, City Manager Dave Sykes and officials from the Emergency Operations Center will provide updates on the City’s response to COVID-19 during Item 3.1. The virtual meeting will start at 11:00 am. Councilmembers and presenters will teleconference from remote locations. The public can watch the meeting on the City’s YouTube Channel. To make public comment during the meeting, email email@example.com. Additional instructions for public comment are posted in the meeting agenda.
Updates on City of San José Services and/or Operations
- Silicon Valley Strong Small Business Grants Open: The Silicon Valley Strong Small Business Grant Program will accept applications beginning today, May 11, through Sunday, May 17 at 11:59 p.m. The grant program will provide working capital grants of $10,000 to 142 eligible small businesses in San Jose that have suffered financial loss due to the COVID-19 crisis. The grant can be used for payroll, rent, and other overhead costs. The Opportunity Fund, a Non-Profit Financial Institution, will be responsible for managing the fund. Due to the short deadline to apply, this is an online application process only. Please read through the Frequently Asked Questions on the Opportunity Fund website, before you apply.
