2017 PRNS Community Impact Report Available Online

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services’ 2017 Community Impact Report is available online. This annual report details the community benefits of parks, trails, community centers and programs. Highlights include: 223,000 nutritious meals served at 12 sites to active adults; 1,500 students participated in the Recreation of City Kids (R.O.C.K.) Afterschool Program at 20 sites; maintenance of nearly 60 miles of trails and 200 parks; and 192,569 hours in volunteer time provided to various programs. The report includes a section on building community through resiliency and the department’s efforts during the Coyote Creek Flood, Alum Rock Park wildfires, extreme winter nights and record-breaking heatwaves.
