Citywide curfew takes effect today: City Manager Dave Sykes has implemented a citywide curfew effective today, via a Local Proclamation of Emergency. The curfew will be in effect from 8:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., beginning Sunday, May 31 for the next 7 days or until further notice.

Mayor Sam Liccardo, City Manager Dave Sykes and Chief of Police Eddie Garcia will be available to take questions at a press conference today at San Jose Police Department headquarters at 201 W. Mission St., in room 314. Members of the press: please be prepared with your credentials to be ushered into the building.
