Citywide curfew to lift at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday: San José City Council has voted to lift the citywide curfew that went into effect on Sunday in response to protests. The curfew will be in effect until 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 4.
***Media Briefing: Thursday, June 4 at 1:00 p.m.***
The City of San José will hold a media briefing on Thursday, June 4, about the recent protests in San Jose over the death of George Floyd. Mayor Sam Liccardo, City Manager Dave Sykes, and Chief of Police Eddie Garcia will update the community on San Jose’s policing efforts in response to recent protests. The press conference will be held at 1:00 p.m. at San José Police Department headquarters at 201 W. Mission St. in room 314. Members of the press: Please be prepared with your credentials to be ushered into the building, and be mindful of social distancing requirements while at the briefing.
The press conference will be available live via the City of San Jose, San Jose Police Department and Mayor Liccardo’s Facebook pages.
