Design Study on Plaza de Cesar Chavez
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services, with support from the Knight Foundation, is working with SWA Group and Reed Gilliland Landscape Architects to complete a design study for Plaza de Cesar Chavez. Plaza is the crown jewel of downtown public events with attendance in the hundreds of thousands. Music in the Park and Christmas in the Park attract over 650,000 visitors. Through this study, PRNS will evaluate park design alternatives that can withstand high intensity day-to-day use. The public outreach phase is currently underway with a final vision document expected in the spring. For more information, contact Nicolle Burnham, Deputy Director, (408) 793-5514.
