The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services’ Community Gardens Program invites community members to rent a garden plot. Currently, over 900 community gardeners participate in the program. Plots are available at: Cornucopia, Discovery, El Jardin, Laguna Seca, and Nuestra Tierra. The program provides participants with opportunities to grow food for their family and cultivate friendships. The program also provides environmental education and awareness, and preserves the agricultural heritage of San José.
