"Many local restaurants are struggling to survive during the coronavirus pandemic," said Chef Rodney Baca, who co-owns The Shop by Chef Baca and recently jumpstarted Chef's Market. "With no help or end in sight, our team worked together to make it possible to help restaurants pay the bills while making an impact on food insecurity found in the community."

Our #SiliconValleyStrongHeroes united with five local all-star restaurants all under one home, 375 S 2nd St. in Downtown San José, to provide a "win-win-win-win situation" for small businesses, non-profit organizations, food lovers and community members in need.
Through the collaborative partnership with the five local food businesses, San Jose Ship Kits, Hunger at Home, Urban Community and Westbank, for every meal ordered, a second meal will be prepared at no cost and donated to feed those who need support finding a warm meal.

Participants can order from the safety of their home from a diverse menu of options and pick up orders with touchless delivery at the Chef's Market drive-thru system.
You can also order a meal and simply donate them by letting the Chef's Market staff know. Chef's Markets' hours of operation began on December 30 and runs through Tuesday, January 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The collaborative hopes this creative initiative will contribute to local restaurants, individuals and the city’s recovery from the impacts of COVID-19.
Although the Chef's Market will end on January 12, they hope to continue this unique program that supports small businesses while feeding people in need, by beginning a delivery service and scheduling additional pop-ups throughout our #SiliconValleyStrong community.

We thank our #SiliconValleyStrongHeroes for creating this collaboration to help local businesses while supporting members of our community affected by food insecurities.
Chef's Market wouldn't be possible without their partner restaurants, including The Shop by Chef Baca, Hyland House of Sushi, Jora Peruvian, Loteria Taco Bar and Robee's Falafel. Orders are being taken now and can be scheduled for pick-up any day during Chef's Market hours of operation.
