Acorns and Buckeye Seeds Planted at Guadalupe Oak Grove Park

Post Date:11/02/2018

Nearly 100 new trees will sprout at Guadalupe Oak Grove Park thanks to volunteer efforts. Following the parks Vegetation Management Plan, new oak and buckeye trees will help maintain the area as an oak woodland. In an effort to keep local seeds and ensure diseases do not enter the soil, acorns and buckeye nuts were harvested from the park’s trees. On Saturday, Oct. 20, after tilling the dirt, planting the seeds and mulching the site, volunteers watered the newly planted area.
