Pavement update - 10/14/19
Pavement update week of 10/14/19
- Microsurfacing will happen on segments of Snell Avenue, Basking Ridge Avenue, Bascom Avenue, Koch Lane, and Trimble Road.
- Please note that some microsurfacing on Trimble Road will occur at night.
- Please note that some microsurfacing on Bascom Avenue and Trimble Road will occur on a Saturday
- Asphalt removing and replacing will occur on parts of Trimble Road.
- Paving activities are happening on our local and neighborhood streets in council districts 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and 10. See the map of this year's paving projects for project limits.

Glossary
Asphalt overlay: Adding hot asphalt back to the street as part of the resurfacing process.
Cold-in-place (CIR) recycling: The process of removing the existing asphalt surface, mixing the crushed asphalt with a recycling agent, and reapplying the mixture back on the street surface.
Micro milling: The process of removing a thin top layer of failing asphalt.
Microsurface: A protective seal coat consisting of a thin, tough layer of asphalt emulsion blended with finely crushed stone for traction.
Remove and replace: The process of cutting segments of damaged, warped, or collapsed asphalt out of the roadway and filling them back in before resurfacing or sealing begins.
Wedge cut/Conform cut: Removing the thin portion of the street adjacent to the curb line in order to allow for the smooth application of pavement material to the edge of the street.
Striping: Adding lane lines or other markings to the street surface.
