ActivateSJ Strategic Plan
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services (PRNS) 20-year strategic plan, ActivateSJ, will be heard by the Council’s Neighborhood Services and Education Committee on Thursday, November 14 and the City Council in early December.
Although initially intended to replace the Greenprint, ActivateSJ now complements it. ActivateSJ is different from the Greenprint. It is a people-focused and service-driven plan. The five guiding principles act as strategic priorities that will carry PRNS into the future, will identify opportunities and guide decisions which may include the development of regional capital-centric Greenprint’s. Each guiding principle acts as a building block, beginning with the foundation of stewardship and culminating in public life.
We are proud of the broad range of programs and services we offer and most importantly, our role in connecting our community. With ActivateSJ, we seek to do even more, while meeting high expectations and navigating a wide variety of challenges. We thank the San José community for helping us develop a plan that will prepare us for the future.
