Living Spaces opens first store in Santa Clara County
Expanding San Jose’s options for home décor, Living Spaces, a leading West Coast-based home furnishings retailer, opened its newest location at the Westfield Oakridge Mall.
This is the company’s first Santa Clara County location and first store inside of a shopping center in the US. The Southern California-based furniture chain has gained a following for its reasonably priced, stylish home furnishings, and now has 25 stores in California, Texas, Nevada and Arizona. Located in the former Sears location, the 100,000+ square-foot furniture store offers a wide range of furniture, rugs and accessories. Because its employees don’t work on commission, they are helpful rather than high-pressure, and can offer same-day delivery.
The grand opening was celebrated in November, and the San Jose City Councilmember for the district, Johnny Khamis, enjoyed the employee pep rally before the formal opening.
“Living Spaces is a great addition to our already vibrant Oakridge Mall,” Khamis said. “We are delighted to be able to welcome them to San Jose.” Leading the pep rally before the opening was. The ribbon-cutting was presided over by Living Spaces’ Oakridge Mall Store Manager Anthony Dekker, and the ribbon was cut by Living Spaces Owner Grover Geiselman and Director of Brand Marcello Baeza.
Living Spaces’ new location is at 5540 Winfield Blvd., at the western end of Westfield Oakridge Mall.
