Some heroes fly high in the sky, some climb walls, and some stand guard through the night. However, here in the City of San José, our heroes this weekend will be making a big difference the best way they can – by picking up litter.

With Earth Day right around the corner, volunteers all over the City will be banding together across their neighborhoods tomorrow, Saturday, April 20, for the annual Great American Litter Pick Up (GALPU) event to do their part in making the planet a cleaner place.

Armed with litter sticks and volunteer vests, our league of #SiliconValleyStrongHeroes consisting of hardworking BeautifySJ staff, neighborhood associations, elected officials and their staff, and San José residents will dedicate their weekend to help preserve the Earth.

Thanks to our valiant volunteers, events such as GALPU are possible to foster a positive, healthy environment for all residents to enjoy.

It’s not too late. You too can take up the vest and volunteer. The City will host cleanup parties all around numerous neighborhoods and parks, which everyone is invited to be a part of.

So, what do you say? You ready to make a difference?

Come on over and pick up a litter kit to help build community through fun!
