Who:
  • Department of Transportation staff
  • Councilmember from each host district
Background: The Department of Transportation staff will introduce community members to two new traffic safety camera systems being deployed in San José: speed safety cameras and red light cameras. The camera systems support San José’s Vision Zero initiative, which is focused on eliminating fatal and severe-injury traffic crashes. Speeding and red-light running are the top two known causes of these crashes.

Staff will give an overview of the two systems, discuss similarities and differences, provide timelines and locations for deployment, if available, and answer questions. If you are interested in attending, please email anna.le@sanjoseca.gov.
