The City Manager's 30-Day Round-Up will be in recess the month of July. The next issue will be released in August 2025.San José City Hall, City Offices Closed June 19 and July 4, 2025: While most City services will be closed in observance of the Juneteenth and Fourth of July holidays, respectively, public safety and utility services will operate.
- Customer Contact Center (San José 311): An answering service will provide information and assist callers. Non-emergency requests requiring follow-up will be routed to the proper department and handled during open business hours.
- San José Animal Care and Services: The San José Animal Care Center (ACS) will be closed on Thursday, June 19 and Friday, July 4. For more information about finding your lost pet, visit www.sanjoseca.gov/your-government/departments-offices/animal-care-services/pet-parent-services/find-a-lost-pet.
- San José Clean Energy Customer Contact Center: The San José Clean Energy contact center will be closed. For more information and self-service options, visit www.sanjosecleanenergy.org or email info@sanjosecleanenergy.org.
- San José Public Library: All San José Public Library locations will be closed on both days. The library’s eBook collection, eLibrary card registration, eLearning resources, and streaming services are always available at www.sjpl.org.
- San José Community Centers and Regional Parks: Please see the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services Seasonal Closure page for park and community center hours. - Garbage and Recycling Service: Garbage, recycling, and yard trimmings collection will not be affected by the holidays and will occur on your normal day. Residents can contact their garbage, recycling, junk pickup, and yard trimmings company or use San José 311 for more information. Visit www.sanjoseca.gov/311 to report missed collections and damaged carts or to change cart size. Visit www.sjenvironment.org/lookup to locate your collection companies.

- Wear loose clothing.
- Stay hydrated.
- Avoid being outside for long periods of time.
- Walk your dogs early in the morning or later in the evening to avoid paw burns.
- Do not leave your dog in the car for any length of time.
- Provide your pets with a cool place to be and bring them inside, if possible.

Storytime with Bay FC Players: Bay FC, the women’s professional soccer franchise representing the Bay Area in the National Women’s Soccer League, players will take part in a special storytime at Bascom Branch on Wednesday, June 11 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Children and families will meet the players, listen to a special storytime with music and movement, and receive fun giveaways. Apply for Emma Prusch Farm Park Advisory Committee: The San José Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services Department is seeking passionate, community-oriented, and creative individuals who are enthusiastic about urban agriculture and collaboration. Committee members will provide input on park programming, develop engagement opportunities, and help raise awareness of the park’s offerings. June Park Volunteer Events: Volunteer to clean up San José parks with the Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services Department. Volunteer events provide a fun way for residents to enjoy outdoor spaces and support their community. All volunteers ages 6+ are welcome to participate. Participants under 18 are required to present a waiver signed by a parent or guardian. Volunteers are provided with the necessary tools, and training and are asked to bring a water bottle, and snacks, and wear closed-toed shoes. Community Invited to Fourth of July Fireworks Shows: The City of San José will host two sanctioned fireworks shows to celebrate the Fourth of July holiday: Santa Clara County Fairgrounds and Lake Cunningham Park. A friendly reminder that all unpermitted fireworks including those labeled 'safe and sane' are illegal in San José and most of Santa Clara County. Join the 17th Annual Graphic Novel Making Contest: People of all ages are invited to participate in the San José Public Library’s (SJPL) Graphic Novel Making Contest to create their graphic novel for a chance to win prizes. Graphic novels can be submitted in English, Spanish or Vietnamese. Graphic novel enthusiasts may attend free programs throughout the summer to inspire comic creation and comic-themed crafts. All participants will be invited to attend a special awards ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 13 where the winners will be presented with their prizes. Nonstop Service to Baltimore-Washington Now Available at San José Mineta International (SJC) Airport: SJC has added a new nonstop route to Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), effective June 5. The expanded service enhances East Coast connectivity and provides additional travel options for passengers.
Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines Change Gates at San José Mineta International (SJC) Airport: Travelers flying through Terminal B should know that Southwest Airlines is operating out of Gates 18, 19, 20, and 21, and Alaska Airlines is operating out of Gates 31, 32, 33, and 34. Travelers are advised to keep an eye on their flight information through the airline’s app or website and departure boards found throughout the terminal.
New Dining Options at San José Mineta International (SJC) Airport: Two new dining concessions, Pizza My Heart and Einstein Bros. Bagels are now open in Terminal A. Located across from Gates 10 and 11, the additions mark the first airport location for the locally recognized Pizza My Heart which offers passengers a variety of menu items, including pizza, bagels, sandwiches, and salads, throughout the day.
