The reconstruction of the Trimble Road / De La Cruz Boulevard overpass over US-101 was an enormous, decade-long effort. The project was managed by Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority in collaboration with the City of San José, the City of Santa Clara, the County of Santa Clara, and Caltrans. The overpass was completed and opened in August 2024. It now has more capacity for traffic, is safer for all travelers, and features a dedicated path for people walking and biking that snakes under the roadway above.
