
The San José Fire Department's Fire Communications Division is looking for highly motivated and compassionate people who want to be the first point of contact for those requiring fire or medical assistance in the City of San José. At Fire Communications, you'll have the opportunity to work with great people and make a real difference in your community.
This position comes with in‑house training to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the full range of call taker functions, such as:
- Answering 9-1-1 emergency and non-emergency calls for fire and medical assistance
- Obtaining information from callers
- Providing life-saving instructions to callers until responders arrive
Compensation: Total salary of $91,837.20 to $111,602.40, including an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay.
